SFI 3.3 Driver Accessories Revised

It looks like there have been some changes to the Driver Accessories Specification for testing by manufacturers developing fire protective clothing this past June. As of June 11, 2012 the SFI Foundation has updated the Spec 3.3 for Driver Accessories. Among the updates include the addition of testing for fire resistant “sports bras” and the required fire testing of glove seams which will now allow externally sewn glove seams. Anyone in the market to buy either can start looking for the SFI patch signifying compliance with the new Standard.
