 Drifting at Canaan Bio: Graduating from Wentworth Institute of Technology in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2009 was Derek’s rookie year as a GSMSRC driver. Since 2004, Derek has been traveling with the ISMA Super Modifieds and worked in the pits on the Johnny Payne #67 car. “Growing up, I remember countless times pulling all-nighters with my father the day before a big race, tearing his car down and putting it back together, getting only 2-3 hours of sleep before we had to leave for the track the same morning. Those are the days I miss.”
